Tyler Mitchell was the first black person to photograph for Vogue magazine and has worked for Converse and Calvin Klein as well. He is currently based in Brooklyn, NY and has photographed many celebrities including Beyoncé and Zendaya. He self-published his own book El Paquete in 2015. Mitchell has won a total of five awards in the past two years.
His photos stuck out to me due to the way the models he uses make a connection with the camera. I also love the color contrast pictured. He's known for photographing the survivors of the Parkland shooting in 2018, and his image of Emma González tearing up a shooting target went viral. At age 23, he has made a great name for himself in the photographer community.
