Scavenger Hunt

I chose the word "imperfect" because i feel as if the collection of the random, unconcise letters spelling out the word helped fit the description of the word itself. It's an imperfect collection of looks. The word imperfect stuck out to me as it felt better than just using the word "perfect".

Portrait

This portrait was taken to capture the wildness of children. My brother, pictured, is having a blast on the swing with silly string pieces still in his hair. The expression on his face is weird, just like him, but it's endearing as well. This is why I felt that this was my best portrait.

Depth of Field

I feel like the change in the focal point keeps people from seeing the beauty of the flowers when they're in focus. However, it didn't affect the mood much, as it still feels as if the picture was taken on a nice spring day.

Tyler Mitchell

Work:

Tyler Mitchell was the first black person to photograph for Vogue magazine and has worked for Converse and Calvin Klein as well. He is currently based in Brooklyn, NY and has photographed many celebrities including BeyoncĂ© and Zendaya. He self-published his own book El Paquete in 2015. Mitchell has won a total of five awards in the past two years.
His photos stuck out to me due to the way the models he uses make a connection with the camera. I also love the color contrast pictured. He's known for photographing the survivors of the Parkland shooting in 2018, and his image of Emma González tearing up a shooting target went viral. At age 23, he has made a great name for himself in the photographer community.
