I had upped the contrast by creating an adjustment layer then I lowered the contrast.

I also created an adjustment layer for this one, using the brightness/contrast one to lower the brightness and up the contrast.

Retouch Example

I edited this picture using the photoshop spot heal brush, located in the seventh space from the top on the left toolbar. I added a new transparent layer, and clicked the "sample all layers" button before starting to clean up her acne and blemishes.
